Dami & Steven

Glamorous wedding with a cultural flavour in Reading

This Nigerian-French wedding took place in July in Reading where the Bride Dami is from. The Groom - Steven and his family arrived from France and a lot of the guests flew all the way from Nigeria to witness a couple's special day.

Dami and Steven chose the De Vere hotel for their reception and as a getting ready venue.

The Bride looked radiant in her gorgeous princess gown and a veil so did the Bridesmaids in the pale blue dresses. I arrived to the All Nations Christian Centre where the ceremony was held before the Bridal party to take some photos of the Groom and the wedding guests. Some family and friends of Dami's were wearing stunning traditional Nigerian gowns in turquoise and purple.

While Steven was waiting at the altar Dami and the Bridesmaids arrived in style on the vintage Rolls Royce which then drove the Newlyweds back to De Vere after the ceremony. The guests were eager to congratulate the happy couple so we had just a few minutes for the romantic photoshoot on the grounds of the hotel before the beginning of the wedding reception.

A real fun surprise was a Nigerian dance to a live music of the couple and their families when they entered the venue before the start of the wedding breakfast. The caterers were serving the traditional African dishes and the guests were excited to take part in fun wedding contests and activities. The party went on until pass midnight with the filled up dance floor.

This beautiful and fun wedding with a cultural twist was everything a wedding photographer can dream of!
